Macon Pride LGBT Community Booth
2003 International Cherry Blossom Festival

(posted 2-23-03)
Greetings all!

Our booth debut at this year's International Cherry Blossom Festival is confirmed and paid in full! Thanks deeply to all who committed your organization's resources to this LGBT Community project.

We're now drawing up the volunteer shift schedule for staffing the booth during the 10-day event.

Please coordinate your volunteer teams to submit the availability and preferred shift(s) of each person on your team. Please have this information to us no later than Monday, March 17, 2003. (See schedule below).

Each shift is approximately 3 hours long. In addition to promoting your own organization, booth staffers will be responsible for answering general questions about the LGBT Community based on the available information at the booth, and for making sure each registered organization's printed materials are visible and available at the booth.

The following organizations will be represented at our booth:

  • Central City AIDS Network, Inc.
  • High Street UUC
  • Macon Pride, Inc.
  • Mercer Triangle Symposium
  • PFLAG-Macon
  • St. Barnabas Community Christian Church

Additionally, several individual volunteers from the community will be working as staff support for our booth. Please note that all volunteers must register for the volunteer roster for this project. No spontaneous walk-up volunteers will be permitted at this event without first registering as a CBF Booth volunteer through Macon Pride, Inc.

It is preferred that two volunteers be on duty at all times whenever possible. We will be as flexible in the shift schedule as necessary to make sure the booth is staffed continuously throughout the festival.

We will be setting up the booth on Thursday, March 20 and would prefer to have your printed/visual materials on hand at this time. Please contact me to make arrangements to pick up your materials if available by then.

Below is the festival calendar broken down into each available shift during the festival. Please insert your organization's name AND the volunteer's name into each slot they are available to work (use multiple copies of this form if necessary).
